CS Contract update

First meeting for the 2011/12 contract took place at Leeds College of Building

Issues raised:-

1.       Proportion of income allocated to providers inadequate.

Comment: Providers require a far greater proportion.

2.      Apprenticeship officers not providing site evidence or support to providers.

Comment: 10% of funding taken from providers to be given back.

3.      19+ funding income subsidised by providers as CS are not charging employers for the shortfall as College managing agents do.

Comment: Providers should not be penalised for CS decision not to seek funding from employers, therefore the full funding rate should be collected and passed onto providers.

4.      Timely completion requires the support of employers otherwise providers risk losing their trainee bonus.

Comment:  Employers to have their grant funded achievement bonus linked to achieving timely completion.
